A frequent keynoter, Babs has been invited to speak at hundreds of schools, educational conferences, and parenting seminars. A former university instructor and teacher-training liaison, she has been an educator and author for five decades. Babs has taught elementary and special education classes at all levels and served as director of special education in school districts in both Indiana and Michigan. Babs’ professional specialty is oral language, the often-overlooked foundation for literacy.
Babs brings to every product at Babsy B her passionate dedication to reach and teach the community of every child so that, from birth, each child is immersed in spoken language through daily readalouds and talk. “Then,” says Babs, “every child has the foundation in language and literacy that shapes their future. And every child gets to realize the joy of success as a reader, writer, and lifelong learner.”
Babs’ series of eight board books for ages 0-3+, were released in 2015 by Reading Realm, Inc.
