How to Build Your Child's Appreciation for All He Can Do
Hang a full-length mirror on a door or wall in the kitchen or family room.
Stand in front of the mirror often with your infant or young child.
Wave and say hi to yourselves by name.
Point to your eyes and name them, show a number of fingers as you name that number, make a facial expression and name the feeling, or model any age-appropriate skill. Keep it simple as you add another new skill over time.
Repeat this activity often. Your child will learn to use the mirror to practice talking and performing motor skills.
